My Fall 2012 fitness

FXII

Program

"FXII Program" really just stands for "Fall '12 Program"; just being fancy.  After taking a long almost 2 months off from everything and sitting back enjoying my summer, it is about that time to get back into shape during the fall.

Program Prep

Before starting a workout program and routine there are things you need to prepare for, before jumping into the it.  Budget, Equipment, Supplements, Diet, Workout, and Schedule.

1.   Equipment:
This actually depends a lot of what kind of workouts your going to be doing.  Generally weight lifting gloves, gym shoes, shorts, and shirt, journal, stop watch (cell phone apps), a couple shaker cups, gym  bag, scale, and ipod; these are pretty basic for any kind of workout.  Chances are you already have most of this stuff but if you don't all of this stuff can cost anywhere between $150-$185

Finding Your Motivation

With out GENUINE motivation all your hard work at the gym and the goals you set wont mean a thing.  Eventually you will fade and give up.  To prevent fading and giving up motivation is key!

Each of us are motivated in different ways; you have to find what motivates you.  There are a few ways to start searching.  Ask your self WHY.  Why do you want to even get fit?  Don't BS your self and say something lame like "because i want to be healthy".  No kidding you want to be healthy but that answer doesn't get you any closer to finding GENUINE motivation.  There are 2 kinds, Inside and Outside; but there are some that seem to be motivations but aren't (pseudo-motivation).

Setting Goals

Ya we all want to lose all of our ugly fat and women want to br slim and toned while men want to ripped and swoll but realistically what is your month by month goals?  Before running to the gym or making any kind of effort for your fitness and health, you need to set monthly goals that can be examined bi-weekly.

Monthly Goals, Bi-weekly exams.
Monthly goals that can be examined bi-weekly serves very important purposes.  For one, it can validate or invalidate all your hard work so you don't bust your butt for minimal results.  You can see what is working and what is not so you can make changes to constantly see results.  Results show you what direction and pace your hard work is taking you.

Sifting through the hype & truth of P90X

There is all kinds of smack that comes from the P90X groupies and sales men.   Some of it is "sugar coated" and other s is blatant insults... yet all ignorant.  BUT does work for some people and their goals so what is TRUTH and what is HYPE?

Before we dig into the TRUTH and benefits of it, we are going to expose the HYPE and the "zombie effect" I like to call it.  I have already exposed one of the lies in a previous article; Lie #1: Actual Costs: P90X vs The GYM.  Another common lie that makes some of the groupies feel better is Lie #2: "P90X is better than going to the gym."  Lie #3: "P90X is better because I got more results from it than the gym".  The "zombie effect" is simply the egotistical results from buying into the lies and ultimately becoming a groupie or sales men.

Losing weight isn't always a 'good' thing

Some people want and need to lose weight, in some cases, a lot of weight.  Their over all health and future health depends on it.  But then there are some who are so obsessed with losing weight, even when they don't need too.

Some people want to be ripped so bad that they are willing to sacrifice lean muscle to get what they think is lean and ripped... This is kinda touched on in the article "Anorexic Ripped is not the same as Swoll Ripped". But here I am going to talk more directly about the goal of weight loss, not getting 'ripped'.
